Design Testing

Design testing occurs at the prototype phase of development before a product has been approved for release. The scope of design tests is typically to the extremes of what is performed on unit tests in order to set reasonable thresholds for optimum operation of the camera.

D1 Hardware Qualification Units are qualified for their hardware and mechanical components including thermal cycle, heat, BFD, GPIO.
D2 Specification Verification Units are verified against the product specifications to achieve maximum resolution, frame rate, shutter speed, imaging modes, triggering, and other features.
D3 Third-party Qualification Units are qualified for use with common third-party applications.
Note: Design tests are performed on a limited number of prototype units and not on production units.
